Parish Retreat at Shrine Mont

Practicing Resurrection: Making Connections

Connecting Sunday Morning to the Rest of Your Week (in a Post-Christian World)

Friday, April 16 - Sunday, April 18, 2010

Timothy F. Sedgwick

In baptism we enter into the holy mystery and life of death and resurrection. This is a way of life celebrated in worship and lived in our daily lives. In the development of Western culture, this way of life became embodied in society, taught and practiced through the household, in education, and in the public square. This is no longer the case. In a post-Christian world we need to explore the mystery of faith as a way of life so that we can shape and form our lives at home, in the world, and as a church.

During our parish retreat, Tim Sedgwick (pictured) will lead us in reflections and conversations about the practice of faith with special attention to the connection between worship in the Eucharist and "householding", hospitality, and life together in a fallen world.
