Education for Ministry (EFM)
Tuesday, 7:00 p.m.
Education for Ministry is a program administered and published by the University of the South at Sewanee. EFM offers laypeople the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the Christian tradition and its development. Through study, theological reflection, and worship, participants enrich their own lives and ministry. Participation takes place in a seminar format of 6 - 12 people with a trained facilitator for 36 weekly sessions. The entire program runs for four years, but participants are only required to commit to one year at a time. Course materials for the four years cover The Old Testament, The New Testament, Church History, and Theological Choices. St. Paul’s EFM group is in its third year of the program and will finish the full course in January 2009. A new group will form, to start September 2008.
