On Thursday, in response to "No Good Guys & Bad Guys," St. Paul's parishioner Gene Harris sent the following email that I'd like to share (with permission, of course):
Your description of the British soldier reminds me of something Lee
Marvin once said when asked how he managed to play all those "bad guys"
in the movies. He replied "Me? I don't play bad people. I play people
struggling to get through their day, doing the best they can with what
life's given them. Others may think they're bad, but no, I never play
bad people." That's why he was so good at playing all those "bad guy"
roles. He deeply understood his characters.
Just tryin' to get through the day...

Gene added that the story about Marvin (pictured) is from a book about screenwriting called "Story" by Robert McKee.
Bless you, Gene. Much appreciated.
