Mary, the Theotokos
My Dear People,
Believing isn't seeing.
+
Elizabeth heard Mary's voice and the child in her womb lept.
+
We await delivery now, two days out: the Christ still in the womb, out of sight.
+
God with us, Emmanuel. The Word made flesh. The Incarnation.
+
Mary, the Theotokos, as the Orthodox call her. The God Bearer.
She carries inside her the Word through whom all things were made. The Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Eternity itself. The One in whom the hopes and the fears of all the years meet. Love Incarnate. Hope Incarnate. Joy Incarnate.
+
And so do you.
Which is why Gabriel was sent on his errand in the first place.
+
God Bearer, the birthing hour comes.
Are you ready to push?
Your brother in Christ,
Wallace+
