Where We Will See Jesus’ Face
A sermon by The Rev. Kate Jenkins
Associate Rector, St. Paul's Episcopal Church
February 14, 2010 - Mardi Gras Sunday
Excerpt:
Jesus has told us where we will see his face. We will see him shining in the faces of those whom he loved; and the great thing about looking into the face of those whom Jesus loved is our own faces begin to change... This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. Many of you will come here and will have ashes, made from last year's palms, smeared in the shape of a cross on your forehead. As you go about the day, look deeply into the face of one another and see in that face the one whom Jesus loves, for whom he lived and died, and in the dustry background see the face of God shining back the promise of unending faith, steadfast hope and abiding love.
