LUNCHES Members of St. Paul’s and over 50 other area churches serve a seated lunch in the parish hall from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm and again from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm each weekday from Ash Wednesday (Feb. 6) through Wednesday of Holy Week (March 19).  Lunches – a choice of either hot or cold plate – are served quickly at a cost of $7.00, which includes drink and tax.  A variety of desserts is available for $2.00. 

TAKEOUT Takeout orders for both hot and cold plates and desserts are available continuously from 11:45 am to 1:30 pm.

RESERVATIONS Lunch reservations for groups of six or more may be made by calling 643-3589.  Reservations should be received no later than 10:30 am the day of the reservation..

Lenten Preaching Service

The Rev. Dr. John Kinney

The Rev. Dr. John Kinney, a native of Wheeling, WV, received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Marshall University, and Virginia Union University School of Theology and a Ph. D. from Columbia University/Union Theological Seminary in New York.
He is distinguished as a systematic theologian, academician and administrator. Under his leadership as Dean of the School of Theology at Virginia Union, the Doctor of Ministry Program was established, the Master of Divinity Program experienced unparalleled growth and the continuing education program was expanded.
He also serves as pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Beaverdam, VA. He has served as Assistant Professor of Theology-Chicago Theological Seminary and adjunct faculty at Randolph Macon College, Ashland, Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, and the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg. Among his fellowships and awards are the Rockefeller Doctoral Fellowship, Fellow of the Graduate School, Columbia University, and President’s Fellow, Columbia University. He is currently a consultant to the American Baptist Convention, the Progressive National Baptist Convention, the Baptist General Convention of Virginia and the United States Navy and Army Chaplain Corps. Among his publications and research activities are: Delivered from the Pit: God Lifts Us Up, and Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! Women: To Preach or Not to Preach! Dr. Kinney is developing works on Theological Methodology in the Black Church and Spirituality and Justice.
