Jazz Lunches

Terri Murphy and Kevin Simpson

Jazz Lunches, in partnership with the Richmond Jazz Society, are held each Wednesday, April 2 through May 14 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Church Parish Hall. Cost is $8 per person which includes Jazz and lunch (catered by a leading area restaurant) with beverage and dessert.
For reservations call the Church at 643-3589 or reserve on-line by the Monday, May 5.

This Wednesday featured Jazz musicians are – TERRI AND KEVIN SIMPSON (JAZZ AND R&B)
Pianist/vocalist/composer Terri Simpson is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Jazz Studies program and her husband, Kevin Simpson, who also attended VCU, is one of the most active saxophonists/flutists in the area.  Terri and Kevin perform regularly with their respective ensembles in a variety of restaurants and clubs in Central Virginia.  Today, however, it is a rare treat to have them here, performing together.

Food will be catered by Delux.

Worship Reflection Group Meeting

The Worship Reflection Group (WRG) was recently formed to study liturgy and music and discuss their relation to St. Paul’s worship services.  The core members of this new group are Martin Erb, Worship Ministry Board chair; Adrian Luxmoore, 9:00 Worship Committee chair and Ray Glover, 11:15 Worship Committee chair. Clergy and musicians will attend meetings as ex officio members.

The Worship Reflection Group will offer oversight for give and take liturgical design that is critical in the first stages of a parish startup with a new rector. The first meeting of the group was held on February 6, 2008.

Wednesday Nights at St. Paul’s

Dinner, fellowship and education

Come for dinner then join a group for an evening of fun, formation or fellowship!
Gather at 6:00 p.m., Dinner at 6:15 p.m., Programs at 7:00 p.m.

Crochet A Prayer Shawl:  Needlework instructor and St. Paul’s parishioner Lynn Evans will teach participants of all ages how to crochet a simple square.  The squares will then be sewn together to create a prayer shawl for a parishioner in need.  (No supplies needed)

Prayer Yoga: Suzanne McWilliams invites you to join her in performing simple yoga postures, while praying with your body. 

Nursery Time – If you are under age 5 this is just for you! Join us in the nursery for a short movie and story time.
