Jazz Lunches
Gypsy Roots
Jazz Lunches, in partnership with the Richmond Jazz Society, are held each Wednesday, April 2 through May 14 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Church Parish Hall. Cost is $8 per person which includes Jazz and lunch (catered by a leading area restaurant) with beverage and dessert.
For reservations call the Church at 643-3589 or reserve on-line by the Monday, May 12.
This Wednesday featured Jazz musicians are – GYPSY ROOTS (GYPSY JAZZ)
Gypsy Jazz is an idiom pioneered in the 1930s by guitar legend Django Reinhardt. Django was foremost among a group of guitarists working in and around Paris in the late 1920s and 30s. Continuing in that tradition are Richmond’s own Gypsy Roots. The core of Gypsy Roots is made up of James Beard and Thomas Wakefield, both on guitar and Larry Lyles on violin.
Food will be catered by Kuba Kuba.
