According to the friendly folks at Richmond Magazine, Prayer Yoga on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. in our Chapel is one of "75 Things Every Richmonder Should Do,"

#64, Go to worship, with a twist. St. Paul's Episcopal Church, like a lot of churches, hosts midweek activities -- including Prayer Yoga at 5 p.m. Wednesdays. Leader Suzanne McWilliams offers prayers while participants at all levels take up gentle positions (think lotus); church member Lewis Holley says the relaxed atmosphere helps him enter a state of contemplative prayer. Bring a mat and wear yoga clothes.

Locked Out: The Fall of Massive Resistance

Join us for a screening of the documentary "Locked Out: The Fall of Massive Resistance," produced by WCVE PBS in partnership with the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia. "Locked Out" tells the stories of students impacted by the Virginia governor's decision to close many public schools instead of integrate them following the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. Investiture Service for Bishop Shannon Johnston

Diocesan-wide Service

This month, the centerpiece of the 2010 Annual Council of the Diocese of Virginia will be a celebratory liturgy for Bishop Shannon Johnston’s investiture and recognition as XIII bishop of Virginia. Although he officially became bishop on October 1, 2009, the Diocese will celebrate the formal ceremony of his investiture with The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori,

Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, on January 29 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church in Richmond. The first business session of Council will begin at the Richmond Marriott after a
brunch following the investiture ceremony at St. Paul’s.

Please note that all are welcome and invited to attend this service. No tickets needed. However, all are encouraged to walk, carpool, or take public transportation to the church. Parking at St. Paul’s is limited at this time of year because General Assembly is in session.
