Investiture Service for Bishop Shannon Johnston

This month, the centerpiece of the 2010 Annual Council of the Diocese of Virginia will be a celebratory liturgy for Bishop Shannon Johnston’s investiture and recognition as XIII bishop of Virginia. Although he officially became bishop on October 1, 2009, the Diocese will celebrate the formal ceremony of his investiture with The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori,
Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, on January 29 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church in Richmond. The first business session of Council will begin at the Richmond Marriott after a
brunch following the investiture ceremony at St. Paul’s.
Please note that all are welcome and invited to attend this service. No tickets needed. However, all are encouraged to walk, carpool, or take public transportation to the church. Parking at St. Paul’s is limited at this time of year because General Assembly is in session.
