Project Homeless Connect
Assist chronically homeless adults
Several parishioners will volunteer again this year for the third annual Project Homeless Connect, an event that matches clients with volunteers in a one-of-a-kind partnership to assist chronically homeless adults by connecting them to as many on-site services as possible in one day. This event is organized by Homeward, the Greater Richmond region's planning and coordinating agency for homeless services.
In 2008, several hundred volunteers at this event helped connect 575 guests with various services such as hair cuts, eye exams, food stamp applications, bike repair, flu shots and obtaining a birth certificate.
To make this event successful, Homeward relies on the assistance of volunteers and in the past two events several parishioners from St. Paul's participated. We hope to increase our volunteer force this year and our veteran volunteers are happy to welcome fresh faces and show you the ropes!
