Who We Are

The Such Great Heights Movement

The Spirit Stirs on Grace Street
& God’s Sky is Limitless

Who will we be?

What will we do?

How high we will soar!

St. Paul’s has been such great places over the years, and our faith compels us to continue that adventure, spreading the gospel even further. Share your hopes, dreams, and prayers for where we go next. Over the next six months, the Rector, Associate Rector, Wardens, & Vestry ask for your participation in an important period of conversations, reflection, and prayer.

We ask you to share with us your thoughts and inspirations on the following questions: Who does God call us to be? What does God call us to do?  And, in this new day, how will you commit to helping fulfill God’s vision here on Grace Street?

Together, as a community of the faithful, empowered by the Spirit of the Living God, we will soar to such great heights!

Join the Movement!

Contribute to the Plogs: Beginning on Pentecost, seven comment boards will be available in the Parish Hall to gather your input for our “Such Great Heights” movement. The boards are like Internet blogs, but instead of being web logs on the Internet, they are parish logs or “plogs.” Write down any idea, hope, dream, or prayer that you have for St. Paul's. If you see a comment on the plog that you like, put a ☺or a check mark next to it. The goal is to make it easy for everyone to contribute, see what others have contributed, and discuss ideas as they are posted. In the fall, for example, our Adult Forums will also build on the plogs.

The boards are organized into six focus areas: Worship, Welcoming, Christian Formation, Faith in Action (Outreach), Generosity, and Shaping Public Discourse. There is also a place for ideas that you may not think fit anywhere else.

As you're thinking about who we will be and what we will do, consider these questions:

•    If you went on a trip for five years and then came back to St. Paul's what would it look like?  What would you like it to look like?
•    What are you passionate about at St. Paul's?
•    If St. Paul's won the lottery, what should it do with the money?
•    What do you need in your life and how can St. Paul's help provide that?

Join a “Such Great Heights” Team: Teams have been established to correspond to the focus areas featured in the plogs. Sign up for one of these teams TODAY! Team leaders, along with one vestry advocate and a clergy sponsor, are available resources for each team. Their contact information is listed below. Meetings will be held both at St. Paul’s and at other locations and ample notice will be given to make them as accessible as possible.

St. Paul’s Needs You!

Every individual who cares about St. Paul’s is invited to join this important conversation about what the spirit compels us to do next. This period of reflection, prayer and respectful dialogue about our future is vital for us to reach high into God’s limitless sky and achieve our dreams. As “Such Great Heights” becomes a parish wide movement, with the involvement of voices from the softest to the loudest, we will soar higher than ever!

The ‘Such Great Heights’ Celebration

Such Great Heights will culminate in a parish wide celebration in late November. Between now and then, we shall see the spirit emerge on Grace Street. It’s emerging even now!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR OPEN MINDS & OPEN HEARTS!
